Possible RSD
Can you guys on here tell me how your RSD began. I am begining to believe I have the start of it. I had a trial SCS put in about 2 months ago. I have a 4 to 6" scar in the center of my back. Just to the side of the scar is a small red area of the skin and it litteraly burns and feels as if someone is sticking a hot burhing knife in my back. Could this be the strat of RSD. I see my Ortho who will be doing the final implant of the stimulator in my hip for my low back, will see him in about 10 days, is this something I need to show him and I have a physical on wed this week at the hospital where the SCS will be implanted, the physical is the pre op stuff they do before the surgrey, should I bring this up to them or wait untill I see my POR later in Sept to bring this up. Which way do i turn. or am I just paranoid about it. but it is red. burns and feels like a knife is in my back and it hurts to be touched in that area or to even sit in the car to drive. Please help me figure this one out.

RE: Possible RSD
I would bring it up to your doctor and explain what you are feeling. Mine started shortly after surgery with a burning and feeling of needles in my arm, wind makes it hurt, sometimes even to wash my skin hurts, it can be caused by surgery, and spread, sometimes it will go away, but any injury can make it spread. there is very few drugs that help. Mind has spread and there is days that trying to brush my hair will hurt to the point that I have to give up and just pull it back. There is times that anything touching my arm or head will send me over the edge. Yes mine has spread and now my whole upper body is effected.
May God send his angels to hold you in his arms |

Hi, i had Thoracic Out Let Surgery last Nov after suffering sever pain in my neck shoulders shoulder blades and hands and fingers. It took 1 1/2 years for doctors to figure it out. I had to drive 3 hours away for the surgery and spent 3 nights in the hospital. I was in more pain when i woke up i was crying that my arms are burning, my neck is burning. I asked to see the surgeon and i never seen him once the whole time i was there the big jerk. One month after sugery i was in so much pain way worse then i had before surgery. I did not want to folloe up with that surgeon because he was a ass. So any way 4 doctors had diagnoise RSD/CRPS in upper extremities due to the procedure that was perform one of these doctor was a IME doctor who stated that type of surgery was very complicated and to many danger risk factors. So Surgery cause my RSD I hope you get the answers your looking for. |
