RE: BackInjury in FLORIDA <need your help>
(((i've had to go into HR once a week to give dr's paperwork to a member of management. no one yet has asked me how i'm doing, except a few co-workers.
i know they're very busy......so.
but in the email from the WC agent last night, he asked me if the store has contacted me about filling out LEAVE OF ABSENCE docs. !!!!
no, they have not. he said that they want these done ASAP.
i had no idea that they wanted this.)))

I don't understand why the employers Insurance Carrier is contacting you about an employment issue, that is none of their business. That is up to your employer to ask or tell.

Being said, I would caution myself now on what your signing. If you don't understand one sentence on anything, you tell them make a copy of it, and you will have to have your Attorney go over it before you sign it, or anything in that fact. Be cautious on sign anything. You might get stuck signing something that might bite you later.

If they are E-mailing, you should print each E-mail, and also print your return E-mail, and put them in a folder.

Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor.

((((((bad boy)))))))) thanks so much for responding. Smile

it is the WC agent who told me about the LOA. i cannot say here the name of the companies but the letterhead looks like this:
WC COMPANY HERE -- MY EMPLOYER HERE
XXXX ANY STREET
ANY TOWN, FL
..........
i hope this is making sense.

RE: BackInjury in FLORIDA <need your help>
I am wondering if the w/c is asking about your LOA because they can not begin paying you, until you have used your sick leave...or something in that line. This happened to me, in the beginning. My company had to fill out paper work, for the ic, that stated when I will be out of all my sick leave. This was how the ic knew when to start paying me and there was not laps in time. I would forward your email, to your employer. And like the last post said, make a special folder for W/C and file every correspondance in it.

Good luck and keep us posted.
Lorie

RE: BackInjury in FLORIDA <need your help>
hi,are they asking for loa papers or asking you to fill out paperwork for fmla, most employers want you to use your vacation up before you take your fmla which gives you 12 weeks of job protection in the event of an injury or other time needed off work that is authorized.usually after the 12 weeks the employer can terminate you if you live in an ar will state which i believe florida is...how long have you been out of work and what is you injury????if it applicable and you end up filing these papers with them you might want to also file for long term ddisability insurance if you have it...good luck
