RE: Discrimination?
To jayne and kate,
The meeting about my husband would probably be behind closed doors and then discussed with him after. I was wondering if when he has his sit-down with the big boss, and his boss does not consent to having the conversation taped, would he be reprimanded for wanting to do it? He has not had any write-ups or warnings from his bosses and has been a very dedicated worker. I told him that any conversation he has regarding is ability to perform at work should be written down. But the posts I have read makes me think that this is all going to be "well, he said....she said....blah, blah, blah. Thoughts? |

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Discrimination?
Hi jayne,
No lawyer. Everything was handled by WC. He did receive some extra money (6K). When I asked WC what this was for, he said it was money due to him for being injured. Is this a settlement? The WC didn't mention. What would be the purpose of a settlement? Sorry, I don't know anything about WC, so please excuse my lack of knowledge. Thanks. PS. We have no money for an attorney. |

cuz lady if all he got was 6 thousand for a permanant knee injury then you two got screwed...plain and simple......things like this is why we all tell people to get lawyers..most lawyers charge a % of what they get you....you get nothing they get nothing..And I bet crap like this got an adjuster a bonus......must make 1171 proud to know a fellow adjuster screwed this young family......bloody hell I dont know how they sleep at night.....

RE: Discrimination?
jayne,
So the 6K was a settlement? We didn't ask for one. Are they automatically granted? The only thing we wanted out of this mess was for my husband to be able to work so he can support our family. We didn't expect any money because of, well, you know, our lack of knowledge. This is so confusing, we were supposed to get an attorney???? |

RE: Discrimination?
Maybe he should just let himself get injured at work again. I'm at my wits end.
Thanks to everyone for the education. |
