History lesson: short magazine articles on history of Work Comp Insurance
for those with an historical interest:

http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/nat.../91833.htm

very short & readable magazine article on how the early problems building an industrial society shaped comp laws; and how comp laws have been changed over the years to reflect new problems.

links to the various chapters (9 to date) are at the end of the article
again this is a general history as each state still retains many unique features that reflect it's needs and politics.

RE: History lesson: short magazine articles on history of Work Comp Insurance
I found the article very interesting, and a great knowledge base for many to see how it all came about.

I would also urge others to read the comments that are after the article also..

are you the "speller" who comments on a spelling error in the first chapter?

117 no I made no comments on that board.

I said to read comments, as to one can see how others feel about the article, and how others point their views is all. I like reading those, to show all streets are and should be 2 way streets. Always shows how, their are 2 views to a story. Many posted just on how the article was, and that was good.
