[back injury]

Ok relax long story.
I was at work and lifted my last patient for the day. I felt some pulling on my back, but was fine. I clocked out and went home. When I woke up the next morning I felt a little discomfort. I had the next three days off so I just relaxed. The next day it was a little worse so I took some tyneol and relaxed. by Thursday night I could not get up from the couch. I went to the emergency room during grave yard hours and found I had strain my back at work and possibley slipped a disk. the told me to go start to my work and notify them and follow up with the workermans comp doc. So I went to work which happen to be my next schduled work day and notified them. they told me I couldn't work tell they figured if I should see their doc or mine they had to talk to the director. so come back monday. I did and they fired me for not notifieing them on the day i felt the pull. my husband got into a bad car accident two hours after I got fired so now we are out of income both was. I am told I have a workmens comp and wrongful termination case. but the one lawyer I talked to said it was long and costly. isn;t there ones out that get paid later or some kind of help? I am I right or are they?
