settlement offer

RE: settlement offer
Backache I would not even consider settleing for that small amount. Aa others have said once that is gone which way do u turn for medical. I need a 4 level lumbar surgrey but have been told that I would be worse off after the surgrey that I am now., and have been told by surgreons that they will not do a 4 level fusion. So now we are looking at a spinal cord stimulator. I went through the trial for the stimulator.. the cost was over 30 thousand dollars. I have a surgical consultation soon for a final implant of a stimulator. I am sure that will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 to 60 thousand dollars. If I had settled for that small amount where would I be today. Something for you to think about before u make up your mind.
Good luck in your decision. I will have to live the rest of my life in pain. so no amount of money they could offer me would make my pain go away.. so I will take there medical for life if I have to.
The money sounds great when u do not have much, but my medical being covered sounds better to me.

RE: settlement offer
I don't really even care about the money I just want fixed. That is the problem they are doing nothing.............................. No One seems to be able to find out why I am having this much pain. I have bulging disks and 5 other ailments. I know they can't be blamed for the DDD, or other degenerative problems, but up until I lifted that resident I had only mild backache once in a while. After that point I have not had a day without pain. Sorry to those that I met I tried to hide it but sometimes I can't. This is just my nature. I have always thought that showing pain makes me look like a weak person, but that was the way I was raised. I have always been extremely strong natured and can hide physical pain as well as stress. I am also a person that never gives up hope so I keep thinking something will make the pain stop if I just try hard enough. I had been doing excercises which helped relieve the pain to a degree, but if I miss only 2 days the pain is back to where it was. I am going to call my lawyer and tell him I don't want the settlement because if they stop medical I will be at a complete standstill which I'm pretty much already at, but maybe something can be done to help me sooner or later. Thanks to all of you for your support. Backache

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

RE: settlement offer
Backache- ask for second evaluation by a neruo in the city. There is something that can be done. Have they tried Tenn's unit?

RE: settlement offer
I am so afraid to ask my Dr. for anything since way back when I first changed over to him my adjuster told me they would not honor any of his orders. That was when they stopped the script card and they started to ignore me pretty much. I just can't afford to pay for the scripts most of the time on my own so I do without. My lawyer told me to pay for them, and he would get the IC to reimburse me. I still haven't received any reimbursment from Dec. on so I really don't believe I will. That is why I am afraid to have my PCP order anything because I am afraid I will get stuck with the bill and with everything else that is going on this would make my life worse. I am going to listen to all of you and do what I feel is right...............

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

RE: settlement offer
Backache- ask your lawyer for help in getting the referral, also he can get w/c to pre-aprove the second physican. That is how I finally got answers on my arm.

RE: settlement offer
I paid for all of my scripts, and gave the receipts to my attorney, ( I did make copys) When it came to settlement time I was given a seperate check to cover what I had paid out........ This may be what they are telling you......... I think RNvic has some very good advice as she has been through it herself. Noone should have to live in that much pain........

RE: settlement offer
Backache,
Please check into this website, WorkerscompRx.com they provide the medications filled by Innoviant pharmacy and delivered by DHL to your home. Your Dr. just has to be billing W/C for your treatment and fax in your scripts. I was paying out of pocket(and making copies of reciepts for my lawyer) because my meds were also not authorized by W/C after I changed Drs. last July. I checked this service out and they did everything and dealt with the W/C I/C company. This is done during litigation too.
I wish you and Dave well
Love
Vickie

RE: settlement offer
Your are Correct Vick!! I have been with Workers RX for Over 2 Years and when I Won Recently, the i/c had to Pay over $23,000.00, and that didn't Include the Penalty Monies they Have to Pay Me! It's a Great System, the only thing that comes into Play is Your Attorney's Win/Loss Ratio, which if they are a Good Lawyer, You will be Approved!!Wink
