Question ssd question
ok got turned down the first time.now my lawyer filed the appeal the second time and ssd sent me papers telling me i have to get a mental test with there pys.i passed the on for my spinal cord stim so this one should go good as well.so why are they doing this and what am i in for?anyone had to do this for ssd?seems strange i dont know how they can turn me down on this test unless they lie.

I think that it is pretty normal for them to have you see their psych...at least they made me see one (also in addition to the one I saw for the SCS). The 2 are very different. For the SCS, they ask you questions to make sure you are fully aware of the pro's and con's of the procedure and that you have realistic expectations etc. The one for SSD, for me at least, was a 15 mins. session where they tested my memory with things like naming the president and counting backwards from 100 by 3's etc. The lady named 3 items and at the end of the time, asked if I remembered the initial 3 things that she mentioned. She asked me the date and basic questions like that. Her intent was to prove that psychologically, I was not impaired enough for it to keep me from working.

I wish you the very best when you see her and hope that you get approved for ssd soon.

Saw the Shrink, got denied X 2, now have a Hearing in July. Been 13 months since last denial.
