MRI scheduled

I was injured on 2-20-08 and never had an MRI OR testing done my back strain is getting worse I had PT it made my pain worse I am suffering with back pain every other day no joke fianally I find a DR to take me off work and ordered needed yest of course the insurnce co said they will not cover it but the dr still see me now they have a appt schedule for me on the 25th the same day I get my MRI. I live in MIChiGAN and I work with patients I strained my back lifting,pulling and bending 1 day @ work. I hate the workplace now because I'm still on light duty and now off work to my dr get the results back.

Hi Missmelody,
If you have received a denial letter from IC about the MRI...have your Doctor write a letter stating that you need this MRI because it is related to the initial injury...then save yourself a copy, and send a copy to the IC. I also am in Michigan, and my treating MD just sent me for a MRI which ic denied paying for. This is not uncommon for them to do, because the test is expensive. Anyhow , I turned mine in on my regular insurance until my lawyer gets them straightened out about payment. You can also sent your reg incurance a copy of the WC denial and they will most likely pick it up for you. i also belive that you can contest their denial through court...but someone who has knowledge on this forum will have to fill you in on that part.

If you had just a back sprain, it would have shown improvement by now. Good for your Dr for ordering an MRI. Your health comes first and you should be following your Drs orders. If you don't look out for you, you can bet your employer is not going to....... You are now a liability to your company. Take care and please do what your Dr tells you.

Thanks Tuffy I have been in so much pain this weekend the employee specialist told me its due to my Lupus I never had back problem with Lupus just skin flares and sunburns I cant wait until these results are back if its more than a back sprain my lawyer better stick it to them

I dont have any insurance can I apply for Medicaid by me still being employed but on Disability until further notice

missmelody, I would suggest going to your local department of human services and checking on some medical care, just an idea, halftrak

Before you go to anyone, I would suggest you talk to your Attorney. My attorney had my Dr and Clinic send all the related bills to him and they knew that my injury was a WC claim that was being denied. Once my claim was excepted, WC paid all those bills.

If your Dr takes you off work after he gets the results of your MRI, WC will have to pay you benifits and cover all medical including the MRI.

i also have Lupus...... you and i both know that the injury most likely did not cause a flare. WC is simply using this as a tactic to delay your treatment. The sun, is also my worst culprit when it comes to flares....so i stay the heck outta it! And use total sunblock for protection. Did they draw blood for an ANA to see if you are in a lupus flare?

Tuffy is correct...if it was just a back strain, you should have noticed improvement before now. Obviously , something else is wrong and should be addressed pronto.
Use your attorney for the MRI bills, hand them in to him and let him fight it out with the IC....you need an MRI desperately!

my lawyer would send my stuff to wc people to try to get them to pay they still would not do so.i hope they pay for your mri they are very exspensive i got stuck with two bills last time i had one and it was not cheap.but it must be done to find out whats going on.i hope they can find and help your problem with ur back.back pain is no fun.

Thanks for all concerns but I was in pain again is it due to the rain I dont know someone told me that it hurts worst in rainy weather all a mytyh its not raining now all I'm doing is sitting in a chair on the computer and my back is a having throbbing shooting pain.
