Not sure if anyone else on here has this, but we have insurance that covers our house payments, car payments while hubby is off from work. We've had absolutely no problems with our house insurance company, house payments are paid on time, doctor only has to fill out new paperwork every 3-4 months. Now our car payment and another bank payment have not been paid by insurance company since January. They said they won't pay as long as hubby was released to work with restrictions. His job won't let him work under these restrictions. His physiatrist(sp?) put him at MMI in Jan even though he still has pain, numbness etc... So he applied for unemployment (denied of course) So this last week we were told by the finance company our car loan is through we had 1 week to sort it out or they were repossessing car. I thought for sure we were screwed. Took some paperwork into Dr. office that needed to be filled out by his PCP and after picking up the paperwork and reading it...i notice that his PCP has put him at 100% disabled since Oct. 05, i called his MA and asked her if she could give us a note in writting, stating that he can't work at all. She said "sure". She filled it all out, and i'm sending it to the insurance company tomorrow. So HOPEFULLY we can keep our car, and i'm also sending it to lawyer so hubby can hopefully get his TTD reinstated. PCP wants him to be seen by a specialist, hopefully they'll do another MRI or some sort of nerve testing to find out whats actually wrong with his back, instead of loading him up on pain meds to mask the pain unsuccessfully.

DeniseK; As from what you wrote, is just why I don't like these Physiatrist. My understanding of their functions in the treatment field, is, their to work as a Team, with your other Doctor's. But as I have been reading for sometime now, it is as if, these Physiatrist, are working as a one person Team. They are to help try to control, lower, or relieve ones pain if possible. Also teach patients on who to better function in everyday life. As you seen now, what had happened when you went to Hubby's PCP. What a big difference from MMI with Restrictions, to full 100% disabled. ![]() http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarti...e2711.html Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes.
