I think you will be okay.
Plus if this is what is worrying you for now, then I won't worry to much.

nope. I wouldn't trust them. You signed a blank check. I suspect the atty is now on file as entitled to a fee in your case.
seen this happen too many times with the "free" consultation.

RE: WHAT HAVE I DONE?
jstadfrntpn,

Let us know what the "High" folks say, ok?

also, have to tried calling the attorney and ask him for a copy of whatever you signed?

Bad boy is probably right, telling you not to worry, but I'd be wondering too.

RE: WHAT HAVE I DONE?
I'm with 1171. You signed a blank check. In a legitimate situation, you should have been given copies of anything you signed. I would check with the insurance company handling your claim to see if they have been contacted by this lawyer. If in any way this person has "attached" himself to your file, notify them (the scumbag attorney) that you will be filing an ethics complaint with the state bar. Then follow through on that threat. Be advised that lawyers stick together, and the bar may make filing a complaint a tedious and difficult process. Stick to your guns.

Just ask. If he hasn't done any work and you don't want to continue the relationship, send him a "you're fired" letter.

RE: WHAT HAVE I DONE?
I think Timothy Belt has a good thought. If the lawyer hasn't done anything for you yet, what harm has come of his ways. Just fire the guy.

I am also thinking that if you have a copy of the blank pages, but w/ just your signature, then it may be less likely that he is filling out his paper work, since you would be able to prove the original one was blank.
