Jayne, you forum wild child Smile

Febdeb asked a specific question about Connecticut WC law and I answered it.

I'm sorry some of you have had a bad experience with your lawyers. I cant answer for them and I don't know anything about your case. If someone asks a question about a CONNECTICUT WC case I will do my best to answer if I can. If I feel I need to meet with the person to adequately flesh out the situation that that is what I will ask that they do. Off the cuff answers on message boards often lead to malpractice claims from people that the lawyer has never met.

If Febdeb wants to sit down with me, in my office for free, and discuss their case, then i'm happy to do that. If they hire me, fine, if not, fine. That's the nature of the business.

Timothy Belt is in (I believe) Pennsylvania. He cant answer a Connecticut question just like I cant answer a Pennsylvania question.

[Why dont the posters on these boards ever trust their lawyers?

Your lawyer is right. The employer for the most recent injury is likely responsible for the whole enchilada. Read the Hatt decision. Workers compensation law can be very complicated. There are no cut and dried answers. If you disagree with your lawyer's advice, get a 2nd opinion from a lawyer, not some message board. You cant go into a hearing and say,"well Commissioner, Joe Bloke on a message board told me I will win so I must be right."

Asking non lawyers for legal advice is not very wise IMHO.
because not all IWs are lucky enough to get a skilled WC lawyer....any lawyer can say]
i have to reply to this one because i have learned so much from the non lawyers on this site, they are able to offer advice from the perspective of a person who has already "gone through it". I greatly respect the advice they give. I recently went to see a lawyer and as far as i can see he is waiting on the time that the case can be settled, so he can get payed. I walked out his office thinking i know i need representation, but I don't feel like I am being helped. it seems like i am not worth anything to him until mmi time so we can split the proceeds 75/25. A "non lawyer" on this site can understand exactly where i am coming from, no offense to you jaspell!
