Back to surgeon today
First I want to thank all of you who have taken time to help me with all my questions.I learn something new every day.The doc showed me my xrays taken this morning.Everything looked good except he had neglected to tell me that a screw had broken off during the surgery and they had left it in there. He said it was from my prior surgery and it would not affect me in the future.I hope he is right.I do have another question iff anyone has time to answer.I have read that wc does not cover pain and suffering but is there not anything that I may be entitled to since I have been through so much over the past 17 years and not received anything except medical? I was just wondering.I am waiting on a return phone call from an att. I called this morning. Also, thanks for the att. contact info.

RE: Back to surgeon today
you need to put your location in your profile as each state has it's own work comp system and benefits. some pay wage loss if you are unable to return to full employment; other states use and impairment based system that requires a disability rating.
generally the benefits are minimal as work comp is a "no fault" system. it only tries to offset the worst affects of the injury -- not make up for anything else. it is very different from civil law and negligence situations.
each state also has a web page that gives information on its benefits and rules.

It is a Ky. wc case.I have read the guidebook info that you had sent me to but I am still somewhat confused. From what I read, it is not very clear on cases that date back before 1994.Where from here?
