going for my IME???
Well I go for my IME this week. I am going to see a DR. I have heard bad things about and that he sides with WC always. What should I expect??? I have had no care since my injury only consults and tests. I went back to the ER last week finally got meds that were not advil. That is all I have had for over 2 months since WC canceled my DR. and said they would get me one and still do not have one. I cannot even go enjoy a day at a friends. I went and just sat by pool and walked in pool a little and by the end of the day could barely walk and next day in so much pain in my head and neck I was neausous all day hurt to walk and even move my head. This is the 2nd time in 3 weeks. I tried ice, heat, pain med and I shake so bad that now I even wonder how food makes it in my mouth. What should I expect at my IME. the other reports from the WC Dr. have been wrong in several aspects as well. I have an attorney but he is no help. any advise would be appreciated. I see my own neurologist this week also and then WC IME with a deposition next week. Please help.

RE: going for my IME???
The web site provided by Lilly say's it all, in fact saved me plenty of typing. Use the information it supplies.
Also after every IME, and after you obtain the IME report, you should be seen by your current treating doctor for another Medical Exame to support your medical conditions. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

RE: going for my IME???
I agree with BB. I wish I had a doctors appt. set up right after my IME to dispute what this doctor said about me. I just got my report back after a month of waiting. Make sure this doctor remembers where he saw you...LOL.
Mine wrote that he saw me in his NH office when in fact I saw him at his Mass. office. Totally different states. They will only spend about 10 mins with you and then when they go to write their report, they will read what reports other doctors have said to go against your injury. That is what mine did at least. You must of got a copy of some of the notes from your doctors office that their lawyer is receiving to give to their doctor. I wish I would of said more about what was going on with me, but was told to just sit there and talk when he asks something and keep it brief. Make sure you do have a appt. after the IME, as mine is now two weeks away before i see my doctor to ask her to write something to the IC and WC to dispute it. Stay calm, tell the truth and good luck. Do not expect the results for at least a month after. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |
