RE: Meds
I had no luck with Lyrica or Cymbalta. I stopped both. Lyrica only made me swollen in the legs/hands and made me feel much worse. I stopped taking them and now feel much better than I was with them. Seemed my whole body ached when I woke each am. I gave it 2 months and gave up.
Some people have very good luck with Lyrica. I unfortunatly did not. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |

RE: Meds
Hi nay...glad we could help. I didn't like Lyrica at all. Made me so disoriented I couldn't do anything and it didn't help with the nerve pain. 3 months I would think is long enough to know if it's going to help. I had no luck with Cymbalta the first time I took it but am this time around. It has really helped muscle pain, nerve pain and to lift my spirits a little. I find it to be a very subtle drug. Of course being med sensitive I am only on 20 mg and my PCP has no intentions of raising it unless it stops working. It tends to raise the BP a little and since mine has been under control since I quit smoking we don't want to mess with it. I'm wishing you the best. CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

RE: Meds
Mu husband is on many medications now. The Lyrica caused him to gain alot of weight. So he is off it and on 600 mg Neurontin 3 a day, Flexeril 4 a day, Kadian 60 mg 2 a day, hydrocodone every 6 hrs, because of the chronic constipation he is on amitiza now. And it is working well, and from the pain level he is now on Lisiporil for high bloor pressure. He is also on 2 new ones because the stenosis is spreading down and he is starting to have bladder and prostate problems.
Always believe in yourself. No matter how much some people will make you doubt yourself. |

RE: Meds
I have been on lyrica for 7 months now, and the only thing I see it has done for me is to make me disoriented, give me short term memory problems, edema of the lower extremities and a definite weight gain. In fact, my PM dr just raised me to 225mgs twice a day. And now when I see him on the 20th, he is talking about putting me on cymbalta if my pain and swelling hasn't decreased..which it hasn't. Has anyone taken both lyrica and cymbalta at the same time ??
After reading about some of the side effects of cymbalta, I am having doubts as to whether cymbalta would even help. Sounds like it would be more detrimental to me. I already have problems taking the lyrica, I don't need more. Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |
