Is it true if you fire your lawyer they still get a % of any settlement??? Thats plan nuts. What can you do if you have a lawyer that is not doing anything to help you??? Another lawyer doesn't want the case cause they have to split money......and thats understandable.
Also where can i go to read my case online??? Didn't know you could do something like that. |

The only thing you can read on line about your case since it is in Iowa is court decisions. There is nothing else yet that Iowa offers as far as reading about your case - i.e. what is going on to date. http://www.iowaworkforce.org/wc/decisions.htm |

RE: 1171
Does anyone know if VA has anything like this? I waited 9 months for a hearing and a week prior to the hearing, the i/c's lawyer called my lawyer and stated that the lawyer that had been working on my case, is no longer on the case and since the hearing was in a week, they wanted more time for the new lawyer to get caught up. When I got the new letter from the state, the new hearing was 3 months later and wouldn't you know it, it had the name of the original lawyer, as the one who was rep. the i/c. I then received another letter that was forwarded to me, from the i/c about my hearing...that also said the lawyer working on my case, is the same lawyer that has been on my case from day 1. So, they lied about changeing lawyers, just to move the hearing up. I was so frustrated when I saw his name still being the one working on my case. Ahhhhh! Oh well, what can I do?

I've tried looking on my state website, but did not see anything that looked like it. Probably because my state doesn't do that. As far as being represented, my lawyer was the one that got the call stating that they wanted to postpone the hearing. She then called me and said that I had the final say as to wheter I wanted to give them this extra time. I asked if she thought this was a tactic that they were using to get more time and she said that she has worked with this person many times and really did not think that was the case. I guess it was my stupidity, so to speak, that gave them this extra time and should have made them try the case unprepared. I hate to be the "bad guy", but that won't happen again. |
