Compensation to be Paid
I was bartending and was cut by a broken bottle and went to the emergency room and received stitches. What can I expect to be paid on this claim?

RE: Compensation to be Paid
It depends. Were you taken off work? If not, basically just the medical bills would be paid.

Please add your state to your profile and give us more information about your injury. Was it just a cut, severed tendons? Work Status?

RE: Compensation to be Paid
you probably won't be paid anything; they'll pay your medical bills directly.

RE: Compensation to be Paid
It is in the state of Illinois. I am asking because due to being in the emergency room I lost hours and tips. They don't want to turn it into insurance they just want to pay the bills directly. It was a cut without any damage besides stitches.

RE: Compensation to be Paid
If it's nothing other than Stitches, and the Employer is going to Pay all of the Medical Bills, I believe that's all You are going to get. Unfortunately Accidents Happen, and the Hours Missed and Tips will Probably not be Re-Imbursed. You are Lucky that the Employer is Paying the Medical Bill, I've seen Many that wouldn't even do that. My Best to You, and I Hope You Heal Well!Wink

RE: Compensation to be Paid
if all you lost was a days pay consider yourself a lucky person and go back to work.......if you are looking for a huge money payout I suggest you invest in the lottery cuz you have a better chance than getting an extra dime out of workmans comp....

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: Compensation to be Paid
Illinois has a three day waiting period so you would not be paid for any wages/tips lost.
