how can comp choose which dr's you can see
did not have to go to court, comps last hope,dr they shoped for also came back for me .agreement they made with my attorny is they will only pay for me to see my primary dr and meds that come from him .no pain mgt and will also not pay for proposed fusion as odds are not high enough to help me . and we are going back to get a worsening rateing for the injury which happened in '02 . my dr's already told me to apply for ssd which i do have enough paid in will it be hard for me to get ssd first time around,if pain mgt, surgin, and primary all told me to file for ssd, will this effect me new worsening rating at all.

SSDI is a crap shoot.....some of us got it first round some on here in wheel chairs and in constant pain still dont have it after years of trying.........when you get your paperwork come on for help filling it out as doing it right the first time helps alot
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

as far as ssdi you need a attorney to get it ,if you dont get with a att or your out of luck.the dr.s are pushing you off to ssdi that wrong.they are doing what work comp wants.if you dont have a attorney get one and what state are you in? it does matter your state all state laws are different.good luck.do you have a work comp attorney? if not get one as well,if its work comp related.good luck.

RE: how can comp choose which dr's you can see
you can collect both SSDI and WC at the same time the Docs are right if they believe you will never work again to get you started on the SSDI process as it can take a long time....I didnt have an attonery to get SSDI first time I listened to those on here who knew the process....Bummer knees,AQA,Halftrack,Red and others a lawyer will not even talk to you about SSDI until you have been turned down at least once and sometimes twice......

RE: how can comp choose which dr's you can see
You do not need an attorney to get SSDI.. You can apply on your own. I don't see the chances of being approved any better the first go around, with or with out an attorney. As long as you have all your paper work together. Jayne is correct, some attorney's will not represent anyone until the reconsideration process starts.
If the drs. are saying "apply", then I would. When my dr. said that, that was my cue. The ssdi prosess can be a long one or a short one. Good luck with what ever you decide. 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom. |
