new to this...any info please.
HI...my fiance works for Caltrans and they just took him off work today for a shoulder injury. Can someone tell me how the workers comp process works in CA?? How long will he have to wait for a check? How often will he get paid?? Will the payments come from his employer or straight from workers comp? What will his pay be? Any insight to how the process works would be great! Thanks

calif is tricky ...1171 will be along and I believe he/she is a calif adjuster

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: new to this...any info please.
since your fiance is an employee of the state of california there are some differences in how the benefits will be managed. employees are entitled to Industrial Disability Leave for up to 52 weeks. The details of the program are available on the state website. I suggest he review the online manual and contact his Personnel department for more details
http://www.dpa.ca.gov/publications/index...orkerscomp

P.S. he should get a claim form from the employer and complete it asap.
