RE: for the IW's who have lost friendships
I have noticed that I have a lot of sick and dying friendships because of my injury, but there are a few that stand strong with me and even
some that I did not know that are concerned with my health.

Nothing changes when nothing changes

A couple that my husband & I were tight with for 30+ yrs....now rarely even speak to us. This saddens both of us, as i thought this gal was my true friend since 1st grade to age 47! Surprise, surprise! We had several friendships disolve after my open heart surgery several yrs ago. The husband of the couple i mention, i have seen a total of 7 times since 2000 when we used to see em both at least 2-3 times a week. i could never understand it, and I still don't. i think that people don't know what to say or do....so they do what's easiest.....stay away. Unfortunately , it really hurts the sick or injured person and their immediate family even worse, as it helps to let the depression enter more freely.

RE: for the IW's who have lost friendships
my best friend and I worked together and called each other 2 or 3 times a day after work and on weekends...she was in our will to oversee our children if Becca wasnt able.....Our Boss gave her the choice ourfriendship or she could have my job.....she took the job......(in okla they couldnt give her my job permantley till I quit cuz they have to have my job open till I am well and have to find a spot for me if I am able to return.....) 2 months before we settled when I knew I wouldnt be going back I quit to get to my 401k...she got my job and died 2 months later from cancer......alone and friendless...I tried to reach out to her but she didnt want to see me....it still saddens me that our employers are given so much power

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile
