Old job not paying workman's comp claim
So about a year ago, I was injured when my boss was driving me and a couple other guys to a job and crashed the truck into another truck. I had minor injuries but went to be looked at by a doctor who then refered me to another. All went well and though I still have minor pain in those areas injured, I have since then moved to another state for a better job. While checking my yearly credit report, I found out that the health care agency I went to states that I owe them money from seeing them. No where in this year have I received a bill, I had my address forwareded to my new one in the new state and I have never received anything and actually wouldn't know about it until I checked my credit report. Now my boss was an overall good guy, no complaints, but once I realized this I have been trying to call him for the past couple months to get this problem fixed. He has not answered nor returned my phone calls back. In the mean time I have had creditors calling my house daily trying to get tha payment. What do I do? Please help! I have no experience in this, who do I contact about this, as the days go on, my credit is getting worse and worse!

a lawyer fast

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

What state were you injured in? There are resources to help with these matters in some states.

contact the carrier for the prior work injury and advise them. notify the hospital in writing and give them your work comp information. if the problem persists contact the insurance commission in your prior state.

RE: Old job not paying workman's comp claim
OK. Washington is what is called a "monopolistic state", which means the state handles all work comp and there are no insurance companies to deal with. Usually, it's hard to find information in those states (there are only 5 in the country) Let me do some digging and see what I can find out.
