Still in Limbo Wrote:Hi Cervical, and I hope you are well today! I can't add much only to tell you I have been in PM for going on two years now, and they have been Great! My Dr. and her personnel have been very caring and understanding, and they do the best to make me as pain-free as possible. I wish the same for you!!Wink

Spring, you may have thought you wrote a book, but in my opinion it should be a Best Seller!! Very Very Good Post!!   Wink

Thank you Still...It just when it comes to having a SCS, where they offer a trial. I just hate to see so many suffer with pain. If we have a chance for some relief...we all deserve that.

RE: Pain Management
Bad boy the dr who has been takeing care of my cervical claim and now my lumbar claim,,that i have been seeing now for going on 6 years now is a Occuptaional Medicine Dr. He is the one who has refered me to the Pain Mgnt Drs. and the Spinal Cord Stimulator is for my low back and not for my cervical area. My low back is worse than my cervcial area. I need a 4 level lumbar fusion that the surgeons will not do. So if there is a chance that a SCS will help I will definately jump on it.

Cervical Fusion 2003, c5-c6. Herniated and damaged Disc L1- L4-L5 S1. Lumbar Spinal Cord stimulator implant 09-2008. Cervical ACDF revision with hardware c4-c5-c6-c7 Sept 2009.
SSDI approved 3-2010. NOW OFFICIALY RETIRED

RE: Pain Management
Cervical Fusion...Sorry I don't know where I got the idea it was for your cervical area..I am guessing I just took for granted your username being cervical fusion. That goes tell I shouldn't just guess. Then I can tell you they have much more sucesses with the lumbar area...due to less movement. That just made me Big Grin..when I read it was for lumbar area. I wish you well. Again...the procedure is the same..so if I can anwser any questions please just ask. I will do my best to help.

RE: Pain Management
Cervical Fusion, see pain Management is my Pet p, I would never say it won't work for people. It's just me, that I don't really care for it, or their Doctor's. Put I did say, if you find a good one, that knows their stuff, you may get some relief. Just like any Doctor in fact. Maybe, I just learned way too many things over my years in this mess, that I feel I know what is best for me. Never could I say, it won't be best for you. This is why I say my opinions, and never offer advice.

RE: Pain Management
Hi Bad Boy....so today is nurse education day. How did you find that out? So to your queston...when in utero we have 300 bones...as an adult we have 206 bones. Now as we grow even older the number of bones do not decrease, just the density. They may continue to grow, but not long, wide. Did I answer your question? Nice question ....anatomy was my worst subject...hated it.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: Pain Management
I have seen one for awhile and the first visit is a complete work up..my PM dr spent an hour just talking to me and examionig me..then ordered a complete work up.

The end goal o pain mgt is to contro he pain and get you more prodctive...that is the goal of mine anyway...and it is a hit and miss as far as finding what works for you...the important thing I have found is communication...keeping r informed of what works and what does not.

All good things
