RE: Hello everybody...
stumble on in Jim most if not all of us here have done just that and you have found a great place to be..........................your old hippie friend is right...........you have got to get assertive notice all you regulars i didn't say aggressive even tho that is what i feel LOL.................................
w/c is not designed to be "your" help! You cannot assume anything--it's check, double check and then check again and document...........keep everything that comes your way; every scrap of paper and you will probably find it helpful to keep a journal both of how you feel each day, what happened initially and at every step of the way along the road to recovery including what goes on at dr visits and whenever you have a conversation with your adjustor.................DO NOT let them patronize you and say you're young (which you are!) and you'll recover............being young and healthy does help recovery I firmly believe but it's not true in every case that it automatically guarantees that!........you MUST get the proper tx for your injuries; do not let anyone minimize what you feel........what the patient says is the first thing any medical professional should listen to and i also think you need an MRI ASAP. your injury and subsequent treatment is taking an all too common road that i believe can and does worsen people's injuries often leaving them more impaired than they would have been if w/c and i/c would just do it(allow appropriate timely medical care) okay okay just one more thing---------get educated on your state's regs!! welcome and good luck; best wishes for a speedy complete recovery! nurse83 "After all, tomorrow is another day." Wishing you a better tomorrow! |

RE: Hello everybody...
Welcome Jiffy..I am new to this forum also and have found it immensely informative. You said the caseworker is not returning yourcalls?? I had the same problem..So I called the state workers comp board/Hotline and told them. Well while I was on the phone with her, she said "Hold On for a minute"..so I did. When she came back on the line she told me that if the caseworker(they were talking on another line when she told me to hold on.she sd. "If your caseworker does not call you in the next five minutes, Call me right back and she gave me her direct line...WELL WHAT DO YOU NOW..the call waiting beeped as I was thanking her and GUESS WHO. It was the caseworker, and 11 months later..no problems ever of getting a hold of her. So do that, it will be a 'QUICK response I am sure.
RSD..no CURE....but there is HOPE! Go Georgia Bulldogs..RUFF, RUFF, RUFF |
