Sad just went to first dr visit
I have never been on injury leave before went to the dr that my employer uses and he treated me as if i was just trying to get out of work yesterday i went to my dr not knowing anything about the whole process he told me i needed physical therapy ect the work comp dr said here take these pain meds stay out of work for a week and well see how you are feeling then what do i do i cant afford to be without work but i cant afford to hurt my back more i need to be a bale to support my kids
please help me

welcome, but your profile doesn't say what state you're in- that's going to make a difference in some aspects of your w/c claim and the accuracy of the advice you're looking for..

DH had posterior spinal decompresion, Bi-Lateral laminectomy L3-S1, Excision of L4-5 on L/side. 2/07

each state has their own rules about changing doctors and getting second opinions.
If there is a dispute between doctors you can have it resolved by the work comp court.

California allows employers to control treatment thru a Medical Provider Network. You can change doctors as long as they are in the network. if you disagree with the recommendations of the treating physician provided you can request a panel of physicians from the Dept of workers comp
