2nd MMI ?
Hello all, Everyone on this site has been super and seems that most of the time I think I can contribute to a thread ya`ll beat me to the punch 2 or 3 times over, lol ! Yesterday I got a 10% MMI after apartial knee replacement. Now, he did no tests or measurements, basically went by what pt had put in their reports. Prior to surg (a year ago) he informed me that w or W/O surg it should be at least 15%. W/C had cancelled twice and had sent me for a2nd opinion and that doc told me ;a) I was abit young for that (47) b) he would let it go as long as possible ( who would pay for it then?) and c) not pre-existing ( W/C`s main ?) Now the doc says that I`m 10% max according to FL regs and the instability I suffer from now is not related to the surg. It`s better than it was( he asked) prior I couldn`t stand or walk longer than an hour w/o pain and swelling. Also with his restrictions and the instability theres no way I can continue doing electrical work, so it looks like I`m waiting for W/C to get the report. I`d like to get a ind MMI but as I`m sure a lot of you go through, can`t afford losing The TTD. Thanks All!

RE: 2nd MMI ?
Hi CJknee

I injured my knees while working in a classroom. Been waitting 2 years for a total knee replacement. Been to 9 doctors and had 7 IMEs. If the insurance company dosen't like what one doctor wrote in his report then I am sent to another doctor.

For a total knee replacement 60%-30% is a standard rating according to the attorneys I have spoken to.

I had meniscus repair on my knee and recieved a 10% rating.

RE: 2nd MMI ?
Hi Bummer, Mine started with a miniscus scope/ repair. That`s when he saw a chunk of cartilege was knocked off. They didn`t see it on the MRI, but then the 2nd opin doc said they MRIed the wrong knee. I no longer have pers ins but maybe I`ll call my reg phys. I`ve tried contacting several attys but they won`t give me the time of day unless my claim is denied. I assume this is due to the law change of 03. good luck to you and thanks !

Go to the top of this page to Comp Yello Pages.

Next, go to Injuried Workers Attorneys and you will find a list of work comp attorneys that practice in your state.

Several members of this forum have found attorneys on this site and are happy with them.

Sparkey

It has taken me 5 weeks to 3 months to receive a rating. Last one was requested by the judge and took 2 weeks.

RE: 2nd MMI ?
Sparkey He basically looked at the reports from phys therapy and the measurements his PA took over 2 months ago and told me this is your rating. Which threw me for a loop because when I took a fall working in CO in 2000 (stenosis L3-L4,L4-L5,herniated L5-S1 and cuboid fracture rt foot) they put me through a whole series of tests. At that time also Co law stated that MMI could not be given by the treating phys. and it took a month to get the results. I`ve also noticed my doc`s adds on TV praising the new partial replacements, so I don`t think he wants my black mark while he`s drumming up new business. I`ll check out the yellow pages, thanks. ;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile
