Dropped in to say hello
Hello everyone! I just wanted to drop in and say hello and give an update on my condition. First I apologize for being away so long. I cannot sit for any length of time at all anymore and the medication keeps me knocked out so much. The little time that I have each day I spend with my grandkids and family but I have been praying for you all each and every day.
I am still dealing with severe pain levels daily. I was given another steroid injection (this time in the left hip). It worked for a couple of days but then bam pain was back full force. Pain Management Specialist decided that I might need to go to physical therapy and try to build up muscles and then have another steroid injection. I just finished 10 visits. On the 9th visit the physical therapist hooked me up to a stimulator machine. Top probes were working fine but I could not feel anything from the bottom two. She shut off the machine readjusted the probes and tried again on the lower half only. I heard her click three or four times on the machine trying to raise the shockwave level. Nothing. She clicked it again 3 or 4 times and again nothing. She did it one more time 3 or 4 clicks and then I heard her turn something and wham I got a full load shot into my lower back. It actually threw me out of the chair. It felt like I had been tazered. I pulled all the probes off of me and left. I was in immediate pain but now in the right side of my body. The hip, knee and ankle hurt with every step I take. I have fallen twice from the pain that shoots in my ankle and knee. The next day I returned but had every intention of only completing the exercise part of the physical therapy when she approached me wanting to know if I had said anything to anyone. I told her no and she said she had spoke to her supervisor and that they would not be putting me on that machine again. I let her know that she would not be putting me on any machine ever again. She saw how much trouble I was having completing just the walking on the treadmill so she said lets go see the doc ok. The doc gave me some nerve block injections in my back that eased the pain somewhat and helped me through the week end. I had an OT evaluation yesterday and more injections and I go back again Friday. I am sure hoping that this is going to be covered under the worker's comp or just how the doctor is going to handle this? Any ideas? Best Wishes, Debbie |

RE: Dropped in to say hello
Hi deb,
I also don't have any words of wisdom or experience on your circumstances...but, i would imagine that any therapy, MD visits, injections, medications would be covered by WC since this is an on going WC injury/claim. Sometimes therapy does more harm than good....especially if they haven't gotten to the root or extent of your injury. I will include you in my prayers daily! Good luck, Lilly

RE: Dropped in to say hello
Deb, I'm not Sure, but the way You were Questioned about who You told sounds to Me like they want to Cover-Up that Problem. I would Surely Write down the Date this Happened to You, and who did it, so You don't forget later on. If You See that they didn't charge anyone for the Injections, and Seeing the Dr., it would SURELY seem like a Cover-Up to Me. on Your next Visit, if You can without drawing Much Attention, ask them who is going to Be Charged for the Injections and the Dr. after the TENS Unit Problem. If they say No One, You may want to consider whether You want to make anyone Aware of this, in Case You have problems Later! I'm so Sorry to Hear of Your Pain Lately, I Deal with it Every Day, and I Surely know how You Feel! Best of Luck, and Please don't be a Stranger!!!

RE: Dropped in to say hello
Thanks Limbo. I really thought that they were trying to cover something up but after going to my doctor's appt. Friday I have now changed my mind. Maybe I was just being paranoid. The doctor noted everything in my file. Even filing an injury report. He then examined me, asked me if I had hit my knee on anything and I told him that I did not remember hitting it but I was sitting in front of the examining bed so it might be possible. He told me that he thought that it might be strained or twisted from the way I jumped up after the jolt. I hope that is all that is wrong but honestly in the hip area it feels like what my left side felt like before I had the surgery done. He also told me that he was putting in for more physical therapy for me. I'm glad cause I really started to feel a bit better just in having something to do 3 times/week - getting out of the house and exercising changed my attitude somewhat. Kind of like a breath of fresh air. Make sense?
