RE: MMI and Perm.Disability info. needed
I was put at MMI also in Oct. I am still having alot of pain and complications of holding things, getting dressed etc. If it was not for the medication i take when i wake up for work, i would not be working. I even went to my own PCP the other day for a follow up on my RLS and mentioned i would like a MRI that the wc doctors refuse to order for my hand/shoulder. He said he would order one, but i am waiting on my results of my rateing still.

I wish i could find out where i can get info on how long it takes before they settle after a PIR rateing. It has been well over a month now and the doctors office will not give me any info and said to contact wc adjuster. I did and no reply from him. Left messages, emails etc. I thought there was a time limit.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

Foster

I can tell you - the IC tried to get my PCP to lift some of my restrictions even though she was not a treating doctor for WC - and she refused to do so. In fact she told them with my pain levels and the fact that I can't take narcotics that well and severe migraines that I would need time off from work more than I would be able to work. Also with bouts of migraines that can last up to 4 months (being the longest so far) that is 4 months that I am unable to work period. Can't stand for long periods of time, etc. Not all of my restrictions are from work related injuries, some are from non work related injuries that they tried to get lifted.

Sparkey - it took over a year and me going to court before they paid what they were suppose to after they rated me - they gave me a pittance prior to that.

lfoster, Please be weary of Your NCM!!! Lifting Restrictions to Say You are Better than You actually are is not doing You any Favors, it's only going to cause You More Problems! If They Lift Restrictions, and do a Labor Market Survey and Say there is Work with Your Restrictions, and You are just not finding them, they can try and Cut Your Benefits! If You feel You shouldn't be doing a certain Job, Don't do it and cause Further Harm to Yourself just Because the NCM had the Dr. Lift Restrictions!!! I know You want to Work, but I'm Totally Disabled from a Failed Back Surgery, and I don't have to Self-Cath. Yet, it seems to Me, My Opinion Only, that You are closer to Total Disability than You are to going back to the Workforce. Have You Applied for SSDI? I'm only 45, 42 when Injured, and it took 8 Surgeons (Both Ortho. and Neuro.) to Convince Me I was Disabled, I wanted to Work so Badly! Please be Careful of what that NCM Does, it sounds like they don't Care if You Further Injure Yourself or not, as long as You are Off of the w/c Books!! Best of Luck!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!
