Hi Injurednurse!
Welcome to the forum!...but soo sorry we must meet this way!
I truely hope that you have not severed or damaged the radial nerve in your arm! I too say, wait for nerve test outcome to see what the dx is then. And yes, they can send you to a 3rd doctor....sometimes they send people to many doctors until the dx suits their pocketbooks! Do not trust anyone from WC...they are always nice to you at first...but will stab you from behind the first chance they get.
Take care, LillySmile

Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!!

A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless!

Hi injurednurse,

I'm like you, new to WC and are learning so much stuff from this site. Many many great advise and the most important thing is that people here really understand what you're going thru..many went thru the same thing. Someone will always have an answer here or direct you to where you can find an answer.

Get familiar with WC terms, educate yourself on the process. Don't wait until you run into prob like I did. (I hope you don't have any prob) Don't let them intimidate you.

Good luck

Cool RE: I'm new to the world of Workers Comp and need help!!
Dear injuired nurse;

Welcome! It's a little scary how many nurses and other medical personnel seem to be on this site. I'm a RN. But, our jobs wear us down eventually, I believe, making us more susceptible to injury!

Anyway, as many have said what state you're in has a bearing on your W/C. So post your state so those who are in the know will reply.

Be wary of employer's and W/C people being "great" That's also scary as neither of them in my humble opinion are pulling for us injured workers.

In general I would say document everything--you know what us nurses are taught. I find it's helpful to write things down ASAP after they happen. My memory isn't what it used to be Smile And if you're not happy with either MD I think you can actually go to a MD of your choosing BUT don't go to the bank with that.

Following restrictions does tend to make one insane mainly I think because much of what we do is automatic and we have to take things slowly and think before acting LOL but....sticking to your restrictions is important as you well know for progress.

Best of luck to you and hopefully you won't have to consider a career change.....but that's one thing about nursing, there are so many areas of practice I always say if you can't be happy in nursing then you do need to change careers! Maybe you can find a home somewhere besides L&D.
