i received a letter in the mail yesterday from worker comp board. its a notice of conciliation meeting/ pre-hearing conference. i go on the 23rd of this month. it says the purpose of the meeting is to "question of period and extent of disability. c-8.1 part b(issue of disputed medical bills)". it says i have to have my latest medical report from my doctor including work restrictions and my employer and carrier have to have a c-11. it says at the meeting if the parties agree a proposed decision will be prepared. if someone knows what all this means and don't mind breaking it down into simplest form with me could you please do that. i am so lost right now and i have no idea what any of this means.

I wish I could help you out, but I really don't know what exactly it means. It sounds like they are going to see if you and wc can agree to what the disability is and for how long and to take care of any disputed medical bills. I hope it goes your way!

disability refers to the period you are medically authorized to be off work and whether it's total or partial.

i'll be very basic and assume you have no understanding of the words/phrases used:

meeting/conference = multiple people in same room discussing same topic face to face.topics will be disability and outstanding treatment costs.(see previous post for definition of disability)
medical report= written information from medical professional.
work restrictions=limitations on physical activities common to your job duties
employer=managers, supervisors, and those who represent the entity that pays wages for work performed
carrier= 2nd party of the insurance contract with employer. charged with providing work comp benefits in return for premium payments.
c-11 & c-8.1 = numbers used to designate specific forms used in NY work comp (see link in previous post to view)
