What happened at Jury Duty on the 6th? Did you have to serve on the jury?

RE: Not injured on job first time
First off it is awful mistrusting that they would take it upon themselves to find out by calling to see if you REALLY were called to jury duty. The human resource dept. should of filed right away your injury and that is a violation if you ask me. If i were you, i would leave that stinking place of work and hopefully find something else, and take legal action against them.

Man that ticks me off the way people seem to take authority into their own hands and treat adults like babies by checking up on them and treating you like that by making you walk with a injury. It could of caused more damage and sounds like they have NO sympathy. If it was them, it would be a different story.

I would file a complaint and maybe that HR woman will learn a lesson on how to treat injured workers. ( Pardon my french, but sometimes people really rub me the wrong way when it comes to helping co-workers ).

Thank you for your encouragement and kind words to ME LOL As for leaving the place I was terminated. ANd now the update is: a co-worker called me to tell me my supervisor was having people in the office sign statements that I was not on crutches when she demanded I walk that long distance. She is really not a good manager at all. My doctor never required crutches it was not one of the restrictions! They are grasping at straws it seems. ANd you are right that was very incompassionate to say the least. I would never treat someone like that but she is a cold person and loves to get her way and all that stuff. But I do plan on seeking legal action I have already started. Companies need to take responsibility for their actions. I am not out to be vengeful but I do believe in right and wrong. Thanks so much everyone for all the advice and continue please Its always great to get others perspectives. Thanks

RE: Not injured on job first time
Good for you Tammy. And as far as also being terminated that is another reason i would go after them. They need a darn good reason to terminate you, and if you still do not know the reason, it is even more reason to go to a lawyer and push to find out WHY you were.

Sounds to me that this HR woman is now trying to cover her butt after what she did to you. Maybe if more people like you go after these kind of unkind, careing people, the system would not be half as bad by the way they treat you after substaining a injury in their workplace. I found when i was hurt, there was alot of jealousy from my co-workers thinking i was having a LOVELY long vacation at home recovering. Little do they know the deep depression i had/have of losing my career because of it. If i wanted a vacation, i had plenty of time off to do so. I was a hard worker, working 4 , 10 hour days with many overtime days i picked up cause i loved the job so much. They seem to oversee that when your working, but as soon as your injured, your out to milk the system so to speak.

Good luck getting this HR woman what she deserves, so if there is ever another person hurt at her company, she would have more compassion next time, and it could be HER someday.

According to my summons. I was required to report on the 6th. I called in my employers call in line which is required and said Jury Duty. I was told by HR that as long as I was under the summons I had to call EVERYDAY and say jury duty. Even though they were aware that I was schedules from Dec through the end of February. I did that daily regardless I called EVERY DAY and stated jury duty. HR had previously told me that I had to do that daily so that I would be excused for the session. But on the sixth there was no trial that day. Its a big mess. They are trying to lie about so so many things. They have actually given me 3 differnt termination dates? Among alot of other conflicting and false info. My attorney says let em keep grabbing the rope and just sit back and hand it to them. But I am a very professional employee and very organized and I document EVERYTHING! So let them continue to dig their hole. HR and my supervisor have no idea what the laws are. But I always said the way they treated people and the things they did to others that was so wrong. That by not being professional and following State, Local , and Federal laws would be their downfall. LOL I just never dreamed I would be involved! LOL

Limbo
Update my ATTORNEY! Smile said my employer is in a world of trouble in my state! Yee hah! Just some basics, that make ya think, termination for violation of attendance policy. Rules states when you have oo many points you receive points for either unexcuse absences or taking days because. you have no other choice? Hmmm my attorney laughed he said why werent you able to utilize all the EARNED hours you had? I told him that was not an option I was given. He again laughed when i gave him all 3 of my termination dates! Smile Oh and there is other new things. But also the Circuit Court Judge has now contacted my employer over my Jury Duty........its not getting pretty down there at my employer I hear from the ole grapevine they are grasping, and scared and its really tense through out! I did not set out to be vengeful or anything but I am fighting back wrongs and I will ALWAYS fight for what I believe in! Keep in touch everyone you posts have been not only helpful but have kept me positive and fighting!
