I think that will depend on the wording of the contract. Some contracts will prevent those out on WC from receiving bonuses at the time of signing and the same will go for Christmas bonuses as well. Do you have a copy of the contract that you can review? That would be a start. |

RE: bonus?? please I need some good info
Bill got his sign on bonus when he went back to work the first time....xmas bonus was a turkey and soda so they gave that....check with your union....not to mention if you got it now...wc would consider it income and take your check......welcome to our world
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

I wouldn't count on it!! I know that when I got hurt in Oct. and still wasn't back by bonus time that I wasn't given mine or anything like that. Not even a card!! LOL My injury was in '05...I'm still not able to go back to work. Still need another surgery that is pending at this point. Looks like it will be in January and then about 4 months to recover if I'm lucky! My case was settled in Sept.
My opinon: Speak with an attorney that specializes in WC issues in your state of employment. See what he/she has to say and follow their lead if you feel it's of benefit to you. I think Jayne's husband was extremely lucky! Maybe you will be too!! Good luck to you! Punk  :0) "If I were any better....I'd only be half as good as you!!" |

RE: bonus?? please I need some good info
I don't have an answer for you, but I was suprised to find out that ea. year that I have been out of work with a W/C case (3 years), I have received a check for the vacation time that I would have accquired, if I had been at work. They said that since I was still on the books (just out on leave basically), I would keep getting pay that would be equivilent to the vacation time.
So, you never know. I hope you get all that is owed to you. |
