RE: getting worried
tuffy thanks, I will continue to seek further medical care.

borninabarn, i did report the accident to work within minutes of the situation, turned in ER paperwork 5 hours later. they wrote me up for being a no show no call even though I personally turned in the paper work that said no work and verbally told them no work. still wrote me up because teh message was not relayed to supervisor and paperwork got burried on her desk.

RE: getting worried
You are absolutly right about the doctors your work will send you to. They will send you to a wc doctor that will put a little bandaide and meds and send you back to your job with little restrictions. I was sent back to work with a brace on my dominant hand that i drew blood with for my career. Now tell me how someone that has to wear gloves, open a needle and draw someone's blood can do this? I was put on minimal duty without using that hand after for about 2 months. By the time i was so badly swollen in the wrist area and crying constantly and having to leave work cause i could not even hold a pen nevermind wipe my ___!

I got so bad protecting my hand that my shoulder got frozen. I went to PT/OT for 7 months, 4 x's a week because of it, and now left to heal on my own with a new career. Things are getting alittle better with this new job, but if it was not for the meds, i would be bawled up in my bed crying and being a hermit. I asked for a MRI the whole injury and the IC refused. They kept trying everything but the MRI. It cost alot of money is why. I would insist on getting one if i was you, but do not expect it to come to easily unless you ask your primary care doc to order it. Even then, like someone stated above, maybe if you do that it could ruin your wc claim. Check it out before you ask.

Good luck.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

RE: getting worried
well it seems per my state rules and per my work rules that I can choose my own Doc so I wont be asking work to suggest a Doc. this offers me some hope and comfort.
