Paid while at doctor visits?
I work a commission based career and my doctor put me on light duty and my job said I couldn't touch a tool. They put me on hourly for now and today they told me that the doctor visits in the morning are considered to be on my time and I don't get paid for it. Just wondering if that's right. I'm trying to get what I deserve without a legal battle, but they're striking my nerves.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: Paid while at doctor visits?
Absolutly NOT!!!!!! You are paid for your office visits. You sign out at your work when it is time for your appt. and then the HR dept. will send WC the hour or hours that you were at your appt. so that you can be paid by them. You are also entitled to being paid for the round trip expense of mileage to get to your doctors and back. Keep track of your miles and send it to your insurance adjuster. They have 30 days legally to pay you back. Here in NH we get .48 cents a mile. It adds up. At least that is the way NH works.

Sorry i did not get your state. But most WC pay for your time at the doctors visits. It was not your fault that you have to leave work to go to a appt. if you cannot get it on your days off, or after work. Always try first though to get it to where it does not interfere with work hours. If not, then they have to pay. On my time sheet i use to have to write in the WC hours to be paid and then my Employer hours i was paid.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

RE: Paid while at doctor visits?
In Fl they do not have to pay. The visits are scheduled around your work hrs. They do pay mileage but time at the Dr's or PT is on you.

RE: Paid while at doctor visits?
each state is different - some states do allow for you to be paid for time while at the doctors office including time to and from the doctors office along with mileage - It would help if we knew what state you are from

Each state is different. If your work hours are 9 to 5 and that's the same hours the doc's open how do you schedule appointments around work....
