RE: All those Injured from IOWA?
Settled after going to court, they didn't start negotiating until the night before the hearing. Still undergoing treatment under my health insurance for my upper extremities and still finding things wrong.

RE: All those Injured from IOWA?
my perm impairment by the doctor was 2% which was to low by the ama guidelines for my injury - should have been mim of 5% - so that was raised to that - then they take into account your age, education, previous work history, etc on what other type of jobs you can do and what skills you have will transfer and what percentage of the job market you are out of - that was approx 15% for my lower back - so that was 20% for body of the whole and that is your industrial disability rating. (this is just a rough explanation)
Then they take the max number of weeks in Iowa which is 500 weeks and multiply that by the % so for 20% that is 100 weeks - and then multiply that by ttd amount to get amount you are owed plus any penalties that are owed - and depending on your injury - if after 9/7/2005 it is 10% in penalties - but prior to that they can go has high as 50% depending on if they showed neglect or delay in getting proper treatment. |
