MyBB employee's rights?
ShyI am new at this so please bare with me. I injured my self at work. I am a nurses aide and one of the mechanical lifts malfunctioned and I hurt my hip and knee. I have worked "light duty" since it happened (9/02/2007) until two weeks ago when the doctor they sent me to said needed to be off work until I see a Nureo. Well, my work called my doctor today and had him lift my restrictions because they are short staffed and they need me to work. Can they do that? I am not any better and I am not comfortable taking care of pt's due to pain. I am in michigan. I asked my doctor if he normally does that without talking to the pt first, and I was told "there paying your medical bills'. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: employee's rights?
yes they can and do......please do nothing that will put you or one of your poor patients at risk....sounds like you really need a lawyer.....

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: employee's rights?
doctors move workers in and out of "off work" status all the time.
workers comp is different then health insurance - the claim is not yours alone.
You can request a change of doctors at any time.

RE: employee's rights?
How do I request a change in doctor? Do I just go to my own doctor? Do I have to let someone know I don't want to see their doctor anymore?

Page 5 speaks to the subject of changing doctors. However, the internet is a wonderful tool. I do not believe everything I read. You may want to call a lawyer and pose the question. Most offer a free consultation.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.

RE: employee's rights?
Personally that is their own problem they are short help. I worked in a nursing home for 10 yrs. If i were you, i would go to another doctor, or your own primary care doc and ask them for time off to heal. Tell them how painful it is for you to even think about going back to work now. You will need xrays etc. before you continue to go back and injure yourself more. Think of yourself before you think of them. They apparently are not thinking of YOU. Being in that type of work as i know, you will be hurting yourself more.

Good luck.[/u]

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%
