Calling I/C Tomorrow, Any Advice Would Be Helpful Before I Call
I am receiving permanent disability payments right now even though I am not P&S. I have only received 2. The first came with a letter stating these payments will be coming every 2 weeks. The amount was like 600.00 or something like that. The payments will keep coming till the amount reaches around like 18k or something. The letters are in the other room and my back hurts so I am not getting up right not, sorry. The second one I got on Friday was for around 350.00. Just wondering if anybody can give me some insight why the change in amount ? There was no letter stating anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, hope everyone is doing good and had a great weekend.

I don't think I could help you either. There is number of reasons why this could have happened. I would have more questions than answers. I agree with Tuffy you should talk to the IC and find out what is going on...good luck

Maybe the 600 had some backpay in it, and the lesser amount is the actual check? Im with the others, there are many reasons why that could have changed. Good luck tomorrow when calling.

the weekly rate is probably the same but the time period might be shorter. maybe the first check was "catchup" one.

California State;

Has their own set of WC Laws and Rules. I can help with many issues, but when it comes to your question, I have little information for you. Like 1171 had stated, the first check, checks could of been an advance or catch up Funds.

Thank you all for your replies, it is like some of you said. The checks are for a 14 day period, the first one was a catch up one. It was for 18 days or something like that. But I do appreciate all the responses, and everybody taking time to read and answer. I hope all is well.

Hi lip56,

I do not mean to rain on your parade, but if your state is like mine these payments are not required to be made unless you have a judgement of some kind. My WC company started paying mine in Aug. of 2005 and discontinued long before they hit my cap which was about the same amount as yours. They had back payed me from Feb. '05 - Aug. '05 and then discontinued payments in Nov. '05 with no warning or explanation other than they had made these payments in good faith and did not have to continue paying them (payment stopped when I got a new adjuster...). Anyway, I don't mean to scare you, just wanted you to be aware of what happened to me.

Monster, thank you very much for the response. I will keep that in mind. I have a feeling that my dr. is going to pull me off work soon to get ready for another surgery, so they will put me back on TD. But I will keep that in the back of my head. I appreciate your and all the responses. Hope all is well. And you are not raining on my parade, the more info the better, bad or good.

Hi lip56,

Thanks for understanding what I was saying. I just hate posting something negative to someone who just got good news. Smile
