What to expect 2
Questions from previous post.

Is 250,000 an unheard of settlement amount for future medical.

Does the money go into a fund or am I responsible for the proper investment.

I am not sure either, but I think it depends on your age, earning power and amount of disability.

RE: What to expect 2
Future Medical is Calculated by taking Your average Yearly Medical and Prescription Expense, along with any Future Surgeries that may be needed, and Your Current Age and Average Life Expectancy. If you are Planning on Applying for Medicare within 30 Mos. of Your Settlement, a Medicare Set-Aside is going to be Needed. It's basically Calculated the Same Way, but the Funds are put in an Interest bearing account, and You have a Yearly Amount that You need to exhaust, and then Medicare takes over and Pays. Example: If your Average medical and Prescription Care is $5,000.00 (Just a Figure for Example) and You use $3000.00 for that Year, the next year You have $7,000.00 to spend. (The $2000.00 left over. Plus Your $5,000.00 for the next Year) Should You Pass, a beneficiary receives the Balance in Your Account. Don't let anyone such as Your Attorney tell you You don't need the MSA, if You are going to Apply. If You do it that way, they will want You to set up the Set-Aside with Your Funds. If You leave medical Open, with the i/c, You can Bet they will be sending You to Their Dr.'s for Check-Ups, and when One says Your are Healed, You will be in Court Fighting for Your Benefits. I Hope this has Helped, and Have a great Day!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

worth:
no.
future medical costs for serious injuries can be many times higher.
depends on the settlement type and whether a medicare set aside is involved.
