have a question
i have been off work for almost two weeks. my doctors would not take me off work but when i saw the pt she took me off work. before that i had restrictions of elevating my leg for 15 min every hour and no bending ,twisting,or lifting so my work put me in a wheelchair.well now wc is telling me my time off was on my own even though my pt took me off. can they do this? the doctors think that i have a torn meniscus in my right knee. i dont feel that the doctors are giving me good care.i am in an imobilizer and cant put wait on my leg cause it hurts so bad, but the doctors have not giving me anthing for pain. they seem to think that im not in any pain.i live in a tiny town in south dakota and these are the only doctors around for miles so i need some help thanks.

RE: have a question
People in PT can't play Doctor, meaning they don't have Doctor status to write you off work. Only a Doctor can perform that. Make sure you file a Workmens' Compensation Claim with you State Board.
Click Resources, and look for Workmens Compensation when site below opens; http://www.state.sd.us/applications/LD01...ltertype=1 Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

RE: have a question
boy is correct.
In most jurisdictions a physical therapist is not defined as a"physician" under the labor code and they cannot approve disability. If you want to appeal the issue you will have to have supporting MEDICAL opinion. If you can't get another doctor to agree then the denial will stand. |

RE: have a question
I would make a list of where you are having problems , rating the pain , how it makes you feel when taking it easy and also when you try to do something .. Dont use the words I CANT do this .. "I now get out of the bed by rolling onto my side then i use the edges using my left arm to raise myself " and when you go to visit the doctor and they give the paper that asks these same questions I now put "see attached paper "
I totally understand how you feel when you get to see the dr for 5 mins , you can forget questions you want to ask or things that hurt ... Since it could be a low pain day . |

RE: have a question
I agree with with my feathered flying friend. Write down what ever makes you hurt. when the Dr. asks " how are you " hand it to him/her. In my case it became part of my medical file.
Ask the place where you are having your pt done for a copy of YOUR report. That way when you go and see your Dr. you can give him/her a COPY, if they don't have one. The report may or may not shed some more light on your condition. Take Care. 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom. |
