8 months back pay from work comp, missouri

i have been off work since Nov. 2006, filed for work comp on repetitive motion injury on my shoulder. tried to work with them, they fired me after i filed. i finally got a lawyer, took forever to finally get insurance dr to say that it was work related. Other drs had already said that in reports. I had surgery on July 17 this year, finally got TTD checks coming, but still no back pay. almost finished with physical therapy, will soon be realeased,after all that time with no pay, lost my car, but daughter tried to pay the bills...missouri web site says that after TTD checks start, i would then get the back pay....still nothing??? i do not like my lawyer, he hardly ever calls me back,,,rude when he does, hey i am paying him, he is working for me....any suggestions ???

I called 2 attys, they both said that my atty was the best and that i would be better off staying with him, one said that there was a dispute with the insurance and that was the reason it is taking so long....but he did give me another atty to call. waiting on that call now..he had a pre hearing to go to on aept 11, but judge called it off because of another appointment he had out of town, and that i was receiving TTD checks....now the new pre hearing is scheduled for oct 23...can he get an "emergency hearing" scheduled? I am near destitute, and i will soon be released from surgeon...
