No they don't and wc refuses to pay on my knee & health ins won't pay.

Oh BK...I am glad you are finding some relief from the second epidural. That's a positive sign. Oh Lord but your knee. I know you need a replacement, actually it's 2 right? Is it common for your knee to swell like this? Now if WC won't pay, why won't your personal health insurance? I'm sure you've explained this but I am getting lost trying to keep it all straight. Sorry. Do you think you need your knee drained at this point?

Vickie...thank you. I will continue in the morning. I had a feeling it would pass in time. If it doesn't I'll switch to at night. Nice part about it is that my neck and shoulder were at a tolerable leverl yesterday for the first time in 17 months.

Hi Cap

My personal insurance is BC&BS and they reject every claim related to my knee. I have talked to them several times and they tell me they will not pay for my knee, now or ever.

I picked up X rays of my hip and the written report reads I also have problems with my left hip and need clinical treatment which the doctor susppected.

Don't want to add it to my claim, may not have any choice.

BK..Is BC refusing because WC has paid on the knee before?? Was it accepted as work related. In that case they will never pay on it. Sadly you have to have WC giving you such a hard time. You know I was sitting here this morning just reading and got so angry. There is a strong possiblity that we could and would get better so much faster and maybe even be able to reutrn to work BUT these A%^&**&^% take their grand old time authorizing treatment it makes us worse. I waited a year for my shoulder surgery. Now I have 4 more body parts to get "fixed" All Dr.;s believe I can be better than I am BUT will never be right again. Nice huh? And then I get to sit and wait to see how good I can get. I would just like to go on with my life as everyone else wants. It's a long hard road. Wishing you the best.

Cap I have an open wc case at this time. Wc did pay for the meniscus surgery and when that was done the treating dr said I needed a total replacement. My nurse case manager got involved and decided that because I have DJD that wc would not pay for any futher treatment.

I never had treatment for my knee previous to my wc injury.

When I was injured their was a witness at work and I was forced to file a wc claim. I did not want to and went into Human Resource and pleaded with them to let me file with my personal insurance and not deal with wc.

HR told me they have a legal responsibility to file wc with the state for my injury. So here I am needing treatment and wc refuses to pay.

Thanks BK for the explanation. That's what I figured as BC is great when it comes to paying WC injuries that have been denied but once they are accepted and paid on by the WC IC BC will not pay anything else on the injury. SO now here you are stuck with WC. I ave been injured before and also did not want it to be reported. I work for a very large institution and they do all of this by the book so there was no way I would get out of filing a claim. Hoping for the best foryou.

Just talked to the doctor and I have hip bursitis. The doctor wants to do a follow up appointment.

I don't know if there is a connection to my knee, been waitting almost 2 years for knee replacements.

OMG Bk...Another problem area. I can only imagine the pain you're in. I have a friend who had heart surgery 2 years ago. They took i guess a vein or artery out of her groin to fix her heart with. The agony she has been in for 2 years I can't explain. Finally her PCP got involved. She just had a hip replacement (Not even close to being related to thte other surgery, just coincidental) She is now pain free and has bee since the day of the Hip replacement. Just wanted to tell you that to see how somehow we hurt, don't know why and it's coming from somewhere we never dreamed of. Prayers are going up for you.

When I read the X-ray report this moring I was suprised.
I didn't expect there to be a problem with the hip.

I have been told the problem is likely due to my abnormal gait.

This is what the report reads:

The joint space is intact.
There is a 1.2x1.5 cm calcification 1.5 superior to the lateral spect of the greater trochanter. This appears to be ossified. This is not a typical injection granloma. This could represent a calcific bursitis or muscular calcification. The left hip is intact.

Clinical correlation and futher characterization by computerized tomography of the left hip and bone scan is advised as is clinically needed.
