Question Doctor's can't Diag Problem
This is not for me;

No, I don't know, nor have the answer;

Please think, and make your opinions;

Here we go;

Man, 48 years old, was in a auto accident, Rear Ended. went to Hospital, Diag with Vertigo; Here is Vertigo; http://www.neurologychannel.com/vertigo/

Now also found Blood Pressure high then goes low, Heart Rate high then goes low;

Vertigo has seemed to disappear after a short time and proper treatment;

Symtoms now, Read carefully;

Left face cheek bone seems to go numb only at times;

Looses concentration only at times;

While taking a shower, gets feeling of going to fall at time;

Breaks out feeling hot, and sweats at times, sometimes clamy;

Stomack to Penis goes numb, can't feel when P's only at times;

Right side, arm to foot, will go numb and tingle only at times;

Ringing in ears, sounds like a Diesel Truck, not as loud, at times, more then most times then others;

At times only feels like possible Panic Attacks; Remember person stating feels like, their no doctor;

Doctor's refuse for man to work;

Doctor's did say Vertigo was related to auto accident, man settles case. Now the new sympthoms come, Doctor's can't say if related to auto accident, in fact, they have no idea or clue what is causing these sympthoms man is having. Has been to several top notch Doctor's, Neuro everything in fact. Mri's everything been done, no findings of anything wrong. Cardio, all test show good also, I do mean all test too. This is a true story, and a fact of a real person's life as we speak here right now.

Please note, medications have been tried, changed and altered, with no results at all. No changes of any kind.

Also note, the difference of sympthoms from right to left sides.

Okay, I await your Opinions.

RE: Doctor's can't Diag Problem
Bad Boy, as You know I'm no Doctor, and would never claim to be one, but it seems to me with the changing from Left to Right, coupled with the Fact of a Rear-End Collision, which certainly would have caused this Person's Neck to snap-back, I would be wondering if this is not a Brain Stem Injury. The intermittent sides, coupled with the feeling of falling in the shower due to the movement of the Water, the Brain is not firing correctly to the Nervous System. Could this Person's Brain Stem been Bruised, or possibly Hurt during the Accident, and the symptoms were Hidden by the treatment for the Vertigo? Also a Stroke will cause misfiring of the Nervous System and numbness. My Humble Opinion, and it's only that, if it were me having these symptoms, I would want an entire work up of my Brain Function, and my Brain Stem checked for Possible Damage from the Whiplash of the Accident!! I have constant ringing in the Ears, but I have traced it to the Meds. I take, and am trying to Live with that, But I would surely want a Full Work-Up of My Brain and Stem. I Hope this is Helpful, and I wish this Person Well!!!Wink

RE: Doctor's can't Diag Problem
I would contact a teaching school/hospital. I sounds as if he needs, waking and sleeping brain scans. I a leaning toward maybe brain lesion. I am no doctor, this is only my opinion.

Sithie

P.S. The is a show on Discovery Health, called Mystery Diagnosis. I would try calling them also, as that is no way for him to live.

The good news is,"You can get used to anything."
The bad news is,"You can get used to anything."

RE: Doctor's can't Diag Problem
i agree with limbo,complete brain and brain stem work up...also would check to see if maybe there was a moving fracture in the spine possibly in the cervical and/or thorasic areas,something is traveling or moving and causing the sudden changes in symptoms,as far as the virtigo goes,i have read somewhere that whiplash can cause the bones in the inner ear to fracture and cause all kinds of nasty problems...as limbo said, i'm not a doc and don't profess to be one,just my opinion!!!!!!!

RE: Doctor's can't Diag Problem
I have always been of the understanding that any numbness, tingling in the face is related to the brain, therefore my uneducated guess is that there has been a brain trauma of some sort.

RE: Doctor's can't Diag Problem
numbness in the face could be from TMJ - that is something my daughter suffers from - and has similar type symptoms that comes and goes there.

As for the rest - has he had an MRI of the brain with and without contrast of the brain at all yet? Chairi is something that comes to mind with those symptoms but so does what still stated.

Has he had his thyroid tested at all? and I mean a complete thyroid panel done?
