RE: Michael Moore on Oprah today
I agree...I get so angry when celebs go overseas and adopt when there are so many here that need homes....and to send food and medical supplies to other countries when we have the need so badly right here just chaps my big butt.....I feel until we dont have one child needing a home here in america forien adoptions should be illegal. And until not one person here in america goes to bed hungry, cold or homeless we have no right to send these supplies out of country....I hate to see anyone hungry, cold or homeless but I WOULD NOT STARVE MY CHILDREN TO FEED THE NEIGHBORS.....SHARE MAYBE BUT MINE WOULD BE FED FIRST.....to many children here need the money and food we have to give it to another country...we simply must take care of our own first then the extra give it away

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: Michael Moore on Oprah today
I hate to think that this has become all political. I don't believe that any one party would be able to deal with the situation. I know that having the government control health care is not a wonderful idea to alot of people. In England the big issue came with pay for those who worked in the health care system. I was one of those. And to have Maggie Thatcher tell me how much my nursing skills was worth really rankled at the time. Having said that........I know that overall many people benifited from health care for all. It is eroding somewhat now.......and the subsidies have gone down a bit.....so the client has to pay a bit more for prescription drugs.....but still way less than here.

I don't know what the solution is. I know that something has to be done. There has to be, at the very least, basic preventative medical care for every single person in this country. If you start with that then maybe we can prevent the big stuff before it grabs holds and take a person out. Maybe if the government took out CHIP and replaced it with a basic care programme regardless of who it is for everyone........all on a sliding tax scale, then maybe that would be a start. Very controversial in any case. No matter what gets done it will be way too late for many people.

With regards to WC. Well, if employers had to pay bigger packages maybe we would not be so bad off. I don't know. I do know alot of small businesses can't afford the packages that the I C's put out there, so they take the smallest they possibly get away with. Instead of making health care insurance mandatory for every single individual, it should be a benifit that all companies, employers, that is mandatory to offer. That way everyone gets some help. Sure the company would tax a bit out of the employees wages, but in the end you have health care that is far more affordable. having said that.............why do these doctors HAVE to have such rich waiting rooms? I went by one the other day filled with antiques!!!!!!!! It isn't necessary. I know that I will ruffle some feathers here. I don't want to offend. I just want to be able to live in a healthy manner. And I can't do that right now.

It is the truth tho....maybe the insurance companies should be regulated with their costs...and employers have across the board ins.co. regardless of size...I'm talking out my head here...imsckofit made a statement, keeping our troops here on the borders, Why not have secret service, cia, etc, check people coming into the country without an extensive background check, and if they get upset, OH WELL, if you have nothing to hide, then nothing to worry about...and with us taking care of all these other countries, most resent our involvement, so why should we bother....can't we protect this country from here?
