RE: ok here are the restrictions
wow...kate is that true, then my organization was soooooooo wrong. They always had them pull their vacation and their sick time, becasue that first 7 days was unpaid. I am going to have too look this up to know more about this. Also, my husband was in another organization and he was not paid except through sick time for that first 7 days. This is very interesting... I hope you are right... Red

RE: ok here are the restrictions
Cap
As You know I'm in Pa also. The 7 days here are only if you are not off for 14 days. If an IW is off for 14 days or more, then they will be paid from the first day off. The WC has 21 days to accept or deny the claim, then payments will begin to be sent out. After that they will be every 2 weeks. Take care Vickie |

RE: ok here are the restrictions
Every State has different waiting periods and retroactive periods. For example, in Florida the waiting period is 7 days but you must be off more than 21 days to get paid for the first 7. So if you are off 19 days, you only get paid for days 8-19.
NJ is different than most states in that the waiting period and the retroactive period are the same, 7 days. So once you are out more than 7 days, you are to be paid beginning day 1. A few states have a 3 day waiting period and NO retro period. So you don't get paid for the first 3 days no matter how long you are out of work. Oklahoma is one of those states. In Texas the waiting period is 7 days but you must be out more than 2 weeks to get paid for the first 7 days. (Same as PA) |

RE: ok here are the restrictions
As is said under my name I am learning everyday. I guess with each injury I have always been out at least 2 months that I never realized in PA you had to be out for 14 days to be paid back to day one. I knew the IC had 21 days to accep tor deny since I have always been paid except this time. It took a Judge to get me a check this time. Thanks for straightening that up for me. I don't like to give the wrong info and didn't know myself. That will keep me humble.
