1171 or anyone else
Someone stated that most work injuries end up with a 0% impairment rating. This does not make any sense to me. I fully believe that once you have surgery for an injury you will never be 100% again. So how then a 0% rating?????
I have had 8 surgeries on my hands and my hands will never be the same................i dont care what anyone says. If my employer won't let me return to work than that should say something. One other thing I am wondering is will my doctor do both a impairment rating and an industrial rating????? |

RE: 1171 or anyone else
the rating in okla has to do with disabilty......if your surgery brings you back to being able to do your job then no disabilty....however I just cant see where if you have surgery you can ever be brought back to 100%
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: 1171 or anyone else
![]() I think there was a misunderstanding. I was refering to all work injuries not just surgeries or not the most serious ones. Most injuries don't result in surgery. Most work injuries don't even result in lost time. a few stitches or a day off to soak an ankle or get an xray. All the work comp data shows that fully 85% of work injuries are medical only. ![]() You are correct that most surgeries (except maybe hernias or lasceration repair) are serious and their will be permanent impairment. We have to be careful with our words and make sure we are refering to the same things. ![]() Most who post on this board and have problems and complaints with the work comp system are not representative of everyone who's had a claim. Serious work comp injuries are far and away the smallest portion of the claims. ![]() It helps to know how small the sampling is when you try to make generalizations. be well |

eagle
the commissioner decides on the industrial rating - the doctor only does the medical rating - if that helps you any. |
