No idea what to do

Hello all I am new here and i could really use some advice or anything to help me out.Im from NH and this has been a hell of year for me. I hurt my knee on the job on 10/10/06 .I got treated at a local clinic and with a brace and pain killer's too many time's to count .I had to wait for 8 and a half month's for the actual surgery to take place.WC was blameing the doc's office and the temp agency i worked for blamed everyone but themselves and worked lite duty for that time .Eventually i had my surgery on june 1st 07 and my knee is not any better. my mobility is gone which i fear is damage from the 8 and a half month'sof waiting . I have yet to see the ortho surgeon after he took my stiches out from my othrascopy and sending me back to sedentary work not even a week after the sugery and i was on my way to my PT appointment that day i may add .His PA is who i been seeing is trying to push cortizone shot's on to me which i have had them before and never did anything for me.So now the WC company want's to offer me PPD and get a rateing from the doc.I went today and tried to get one and he flat out wouldn't.He told me i had to wait 6 month"s to get a rateing and i know he is mad because i wont take the shot's. So seeing him or His PA wont give me a rateing and it's been amlmost a year this oct 10th and WC want's to settle do i have the right to see a doc that i seen for my knee in the past to obtain a rateing so this will end?

You can only obtain a rating when the doctor believes you have reached maximum improvement or medical end point otherwise it's just a guess as to how much impairment is temporary and how much is permanent.
You can request a change of physician or a second opinion.

I forgot to mention i have had this surgery twice before and have marfan's syndrome.Plus in july i had a spontaeneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung) but i did do 2 months of pt and bending my leg back is impossible and never had any trouble before .I think im just going to go to a MD that has seen me before my surgery .

Hi misfit. I am also from NH. Do you happen to live near the Concord area? I did my PT/OT there and they were wonderful. Just wanted to say hi and let you know if you need anything just hollar!!!! Nice to know someone is closeby.

Awsome!!!!! I live in somersworth im about a little over an hour from concord.Im just getting boned all the way around doc's ,WC and treatment for my PPD I never get any straight answer's. Im sure ill need to hollar for ya soon enough LOL.

Hi, I am also new to the forum. I read your letter and I have been in the WC system for all most 8 yrs now. I live in CA. and the laws are different in each state. Yes you can go see your own doctor and also I would talk with a WC Attorney before ever thinking of settling your case.

I have been talking to a WC lawyer for the past 3 month's .He said he that i have to go thru the last treatment they want to give me is 3 shot's in my knee before they will give me a rateing.I didn't know you had to wait 12 months or 6 month's minimum after surgery before they can do the rateing.So after that i should call him and tell him what they want to give me and go from there. More then likely for a ppd rateing it will be low he said but it's a knee injury and other factor's in my case could be taken into account.Plus he doesn't want to see me get screwed either so dec 13th is the day i find out if i get my rateing or wait.
