TERMINATED AFTER 19 YEARS

RE: TERMINATED AFTER 19 YEARS
Truckster, I am sorry you have to go through this. It seems to me like a lot of injured workers who have been with the company for a long time get fired. I wonder if it has something to do with retirement? Does anyone know?

RE: TERMINATED AFTER 19 YEARS

In my case ksgirl, no! I am waiting for a letter to arrive from my employer with some details as to exactly how they intend to terminate me as they haven't yet but it's right around the corner. I believe they want rid of all employees that could ever again cost them money. they want rid of us because we are damaged goods now. Sickening , isn't it.

God is never late.

In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years.

RE: TERMINATED AFTER 19 YEARS
KSgirl, why indeed! Why would the employer give you back your job after being injured? If you are a long term employee, and at the top of there pay scale, you are now a liability to said company and they can hire someone at the bottom of the scale , younger etc, and save the co money. We as long term employees are then forced into retirement, as where else or who would hire us for a few short years. But they continue to get away with it.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

I think it's because they feel we have no resources to fight them, and hope that after all this time, we'll give up and forget about it...some do...I'm sure....

RE: TERMINATED AFTER 19 YEARS
That is really sad..so sorry to hear that Truckster. But personally it sounds right that they could save themselves some money now and hire someone at lower wages. Such a sad working world we live in. Ever notice how the people that dedicate their lives to their work and hardly ever call in or cause trouble and they are the first ones to be S*** on......

So sorry

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%
