RE: Greenhouse is almost done
Oh man I almost forgot Tuffy will be there too. I can hardly wait, am getting excited now as it is getting closer
![]() Gonna leave a Mark - many people in all parts of the US grow the Plumies. They just bring them in in the winter, keep them above 40 degrees then out they go when spring arrives and it warms up. Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the forum Have to run am off to pick up one last 6 foot plant for the year, LOL!!!

RE: Greenhouse is almost done
No room after I bring in the hibiscus, passionflower, rex begonia, alamanda, jasmine and succulents
I tried to root one of those plumies in the perlite/vermiculite stuff once...it croaked. I think I watered it too much.

RE: Greenhouse is almost done
monster...sorry I have not responded until now. I did look at your pictures of the green house yesterday but was exhausted after then day at the hospital with Del. I love the green house pictures and I would love to have one also. I love flowers and plants, but will have to settle for what I can do inside unless when we move we put a sidewalk to a green house and then make it to accomodate a wheelchair. Anything is possible as they say, so who knows...now I am rattling. But I love yours and am so happy for you. I think sweet had a great idea about putting it on wheels, but knowing the cost of a move across country, it may cost more than it will cost to rebuild in your new location.
What's this about whats in Vegas stays in Vegas...now we all have to hear about it. I want to know ever last bit of it, from money lost to money won. I also want to know the other as well...hehehehehe....but no one said I was an angel, I love to hear about your meeting and how much fun you will have together. I really believe that we should all plan an outing as jayne was referring to for next summer or spring...depending on everyone's finances and resources. I hope to be living in Oregon by then, but the way the market is, who knows. Anyway..I am jeolous...and i am whinning...that is awlful of me, because down deep I am so happy for two great and wonderful friends to meet and have a great time together... love you both...Red Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. |

RE: Greenhouse is almost done
Red my father in law loved to garden but when he went in his wheelchair he thought that part of his life was over.....a bunch of his lodge buddies got together and built him gardens about 2 feet up with a cement sidewalk around them...it was so beautiful he had about 6 of em all linked by his sidewalk they were abot 6 ft long and 3 feet wide..he had one with his grapes three with flowers and the other two he put veggies in .... he lived in sacramento california it was a beautiful thing for them to do.....they made his last days happy......he spent hours outside
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

Oh jayne...that was wonderful. How spectacular for your father in law. One of my greatest issues is that I am stuck in the house a lot. This is absolutely the best thing that his friend could have done for him... smiling...Red

RE: Greenhouse is almost done
Ooopsie, was so tired last night I put something about I forgot Tuffy was going to be there too...well DUH, that's who I'm going to see. Pooh is the bonus, LOL!!! Sorry Tuffy I was absolutely exhausted last night.
Red I think a sidewalk with a greenhouse to it is not that far out of reach. I could easily make mine wheelchair accessible, door would have to be widened a bit and a little ramp made. The concrete is not that difficult especially if it's only a short ways from the house. I love Jayne's story. What a wonderful thing to do ![]() Gh is coming along, not quite finished but I now have over 100 plants in it and more to go. I can't really move anything else in until my friend wires the rest of the inside. I think he's going to have a cow when he realizes what he is going to have to work around but that's okay, we are both from Texas and if he does have a cow it will just be the beginning of our herd, LOL Will be really busy for the weekend so if you guys don't hear from me I will talk at ya Sunday night or so
