;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: ssdi workman's comp offset
So let me get this straight they are only supposed to take out 10% of your check, well they are currently taking out almost 50% of my monthly check, also both of my kids are drawing off of mine and they are supposed to get 363 each and they are currently getting 11 dollars each until this offset is done with. You guys are right it is just as bad as the wc system.Halftrak

no matter where you're at there you are

RE: ssdi workman's comp offset

yes, halftrak ..... it is a horrible system. You might think none of us worked a day in our lives. Work your butt off, get injured and LOOK OUT! There isn't a sytem around to protect us, help us out, answer our questions, etc. It's sickening. I am wishing you the best in straightening this mess out. Hubby has been at it for about 8-9- months and they keep sending him another letter that makes no sense. We laugh now when the mail comes from the SS admin. You might think hubby had 5 different cases going on.

BK.....I understood what you meantWink Don't forget , most of us think alike and can sometimes understand a different language that another is speaking.Big Grin

God is never late.

In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years.

RE: ssdi workman's comp offset
The 10% applies to over payments. This amount may have changed in recent years, although not by much.

Check the SSA web site for updated information...

Offset amounts are different from overpayments. Overpayments are when SSA has overpaid you and deduct 10% from future checks until the amount is repaid.

I am on SSD and draw the max amount, meaning my children do not receive any money from SSA.

I believe the spin-dowm amount applies in your case and that is why your children receive $11.00 each.

You should have received a letter from SSA explaining your benefit amount, read that carefully and if you don't understand it make an appointment with your local SSA and visit them in person.

It is always possible SSA is using the wrong figure in figuring your benefit amount.
