RE: Volunteer
That is great!!! I know when i was a few months into my injury my doctor suggested that i did volunteer work by walking the dogs at the kennel etc. I did do something special and decided to buy a Rhodesian Ridgeback from Texas and had him shipped here to me at 8 weeks old.

I have had him 3 weeks now and boy does he keep me busy,,LOL He is so full of energy, but now i have something more to love. It took me almost a year before i decided to get another dog after having to put mine down in Oct. last year at 14yrs old. He was not able to walk as well anymore and i know he was suffering.

They are such a joy to have around. Nothing like having something follow you around all day,LOL

Best of luck in your new job. Your an angel : )

RE: Volunteer
Crabby do you have any pics of your ridgebacks online? I would love to see how big they are. Mine is only 11 weeks old now and just went to the vet the other day and weighed in at 33 lbs. lol. He is already bigger than my grandson that is 1 1/2. I was told he could be 100 lbs. when fully grown.

He is really being a bad boy this week. He is constantly biteing ME and being to playful. He does not realise his strength. He is very good with the grandkids but it is when he gets into his playful mood that he bites me and really hard. Today we are working on that biteing. I read that if they bite you to squirt lemon juice into their mouths. Sofar he has got 2 squirts this am,,LOL. He seems to understand when he see's the bottle comming now to behave.

I cannot wait till he gets out of that mood. Whenever i hold him on my lap or take him for rides he is the sweetest little thing. But when he gets to playing WATCH OUT!! I am getting so frustrated. Just as i am typing this i have had to stop about 5 times as he has been pulling all the chicken food bags in the basement trying to get into them,,GRRRRRR!!!
