SSA Ticket to Work Program
Yesterday I received information from Social Security Administration about the Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program.
This new voluntary program assist disabled individuals with training and employment with Employment Networks or State VR. The workers are able to keep their benefits, revive cash benefits while working, medicaid or medicare, and help with extra work expenses. According to the information I have, this is a new program. Has anyone utilized this program, and is it working for you? My goal in the future is to return to work. This may be a program that would help me do this, I live in Kansas. SSA is federal Agency so my guess is this program is available in all 50 states. To return to work I have to have cooperation from wc, which is not happening at the present time. Wc dr says I need total knee replacement, back surgery, and hand surgery, so I do have challenges when it comes to re-entering the workforce. |

Hmm...no, I haven't heard of it, but then again it just might not of gotten to me yet. I live in KS as well, far northeast corner actually. Also, could it be possible that it was only sent to IW's in KS? If that's the case, they don't know about me because my claim is in Nebraska.
Sounds like a good program...if you can coordinate everyone and get them on the same page!!! LOL That's harder than we might think, huh? I'd like to know more about it, actually. Maybe it will help me a little as well. Any more information you can give, like a link or something would be most helpful!! If you even had the notion to make a copy of it and mail it to me then I would be most greatful!! I'd give you my address and such, if you were so inclined. Keep me posted on what you learn!!! RE: SSA Ticket to Work Program
The information I received was from Social Security Administration,
(I am on SSD) and SSA contracts with a company called MAXIMUS to manage the program. What I like about the Ticket to Work Program is the supports that are offered to workers. You right, for the program to work for injuried workers, it takes the collaberation and cooperation of agencies working together. THIS MEANS WC NEEDS TO ALSO PROVIDE SUPPORTS FOR IW. |

Great Still....you're always rescuing us!!!! LOL I do have a question though. Is that program only for people on SSD or some other form of disability, besides WC? Or is it for everyone, regardless of the situation? Thought I'd ask!

RE: SSA Ticket to Work Program
This is not a new program from Social Security. In fact it has been with Social Security for years. Just to clear the air there. I checked into it once. But your medical must be completed I was told. You need to be evaluated, to see if you qualify for any type work. There is also schooling that can be paid for, as for retraining. There are many good factors. But there can be some IF's in it too. Like in only some cases, after 6 months or a year, during the working period, they will extend your SSDI payments, then once re-evaluated, they could, or might cancel or alter your monthly SSDI income. Like I said it's a good program, with only some IF's in it.

Thanks Bad Boy for clearing that up for me!! So, am I correct that this is for those that are on disability already? If so, then that leaves me out...but will definitely open some doors for those that are and aren't aware of this program!!!
