RE: prayers have been answered again
Sweet, the Saddest times for me through out this entire scenario were when I found out I was disabled, naturally and when I found out that I was accepted for SSDI on the first try without even having to have an Attorney! And then again when I was recently approved for Low Cost Prescription Drug Coverage and the Best Supplement Plan for me was the AARP Plan, and I'm only 45!!! I think even though these should somehow be times to be a bit Happy, if you could call it that, they sadden us because it fortifies the fact that we really are badly injured, and it puts our injuries right up and in front of us again. I know myself I don't try and think of myself as injured or disabled Daily, I just deal with the Pain and move on, but when something comes around in writing telling me that my injuries or financial situation are serious enough that I need assistance, BAM, here comes the Emotions of resigning to the fact that I really am Hurt and Poor!! Does that make any sense??Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

RE: prayers have been answered again
that why I guess settlement time is so hard.......its an ending of sorts(with wc) but nothing has really changed.....you still hurt, you still cant work, money is still tight and you will (at least I will ) continue to get worse......I think if just once my employer would call and say Jayne we are really sorry I would feel a bit better.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: prayers have been answered again
Sweet, Hugs being sent your way, (Gentle Hugs) I know just what everyone is saying Still and Jayne I think it is part of knowing that our lives have permantly changed, and it seems we have lost control. And can never again because of our injuries be what we once were.
Jayne as far as employers go they just don,t care, we are just a number to them and they get on with there lives, I guess there is some truth to the old saying," Out of sight out of mind "
If we could just erase the memories and go back to before we were injured, but alas it dosen't work that way so I guess we just have to learn to adapt and move on, even if it hurts.
We are survivors of this horrable system and hopefully someday if not in the near future it will change. God Bless you all my dear friends.
